How adding a QR code or barcode to a PDF works
This tool generates a QR code or a barcode from text you type — a URL, a product code, contact information, anything — and embeds it as an image directly onto a page of your PDF. That's different from services that turn a whole PDF into a QR code linking to a hosted copy of the file: here, the code becomes a permanent part of the document itself, and nothing about your PDF is ever uploaded to a server.
After generating a code, click anywhere on the page preview to place it, then adjust it exactly the way you'd expect from a design tool: drag its body to reposition it, drag the handle at its corner to resize it, or type exact X, Y, width, and height values in the sidebar for pixel-precise placement. Place as many codes as you need, on any page, and duplicate a selected code when you need the same one in more than one spot. Four barcode formats are supported — CODE128 for general use, EAN-13 and UPC-A for standard retail product codes, and CODE39 for logistics — each validated against what that format actually expects before it's generated.
Common use cases
- Adding a scannable link to a website, form, or video inside a printed handout or brochure
- Placing a product barcode onto a packing slip, label sheet, or catalog page
- Embedding contact details or Wi-Fi credentials as a QR code on a printed guide
- Adding an inventory or asset tracking code onto internal documents
- Stamping a verification or reference code onto certificates or official documents
Position and size stay fully editable after you place a code — if you need to change what it actually encodes, remove it and generate a new one with the updated value.

Those tools create a QR code that links to a PDF hosted online, so scanning it opens the file on a server somewhere. This tool does the opposite — it generates a QR code or barcode as an image and embeds it directly onto a page of your PDF, so the code becomes part of the document itself, with nothing hosted or uploaded.
Yes — click a placed code to select it, then drag its body to reposition it or drag the handle at its corner to resize it. You can also type exact X, Y, width, and height values in the sidebar for precise placement.
CODE128 for general-purpose text and numbers, EAN-13 and UPC-A for standard retail product barcodes, and CODE39 for logistics and inventory codes. Each format validates that your input matches what it expects — EAN-13, for example, needs exactly 12 or 13 digits.
Yes — generate and place as many QR codes and barcodes as you need, on any page. Switch pages using the page selector, and each placed code stays on the page you put it on. You can also duplicate a selected code to quickly place a copy elsewhere.
No. The QR code and barcode images are generated locally, and embedding them into your PDF happens entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server at any point.
Not directly — position and size are fully editable after placement, but changing the encoded text means removing the code and generating a new one with the updated value, then placing it again.
